Setting Up your Baby’s Environment
Remember this will be a new experience for you, baby, and family. Now you are in postpartum stage. Did you think about setting up a support system? Sleeping was different without a newborn. Everyone slept as random as they wanted. Now you have a baby in the house and unpredictable sleep-time. Babies have many things that will keep them stirring at least every 2-3 hours. Because they have no routine and no biological clock, the family will be waking more. Setting up your baby’s new environment will be helpful for sleep time. Quiet room, dark, white noise and everything in order by the chair that you sit in as you prepare for baby to go to sleep. Remember “SAFE SLEEP RULE”… firm mattress, fitted sheet, nothing in bed or bassinets laying baby on back. Beginning a routine is smoother than not knowing, little tips.
